On the Birtley Estate, crocuses have provided a welcoming avenue of spring colour on either side of the driveway; the carpets of snowdrops have been replaced by a very early showing of daffodils; the many birds, ducks and geese are clearly thinking it must be time to start building a nest; whilst in the neighbouring fields, the lambs are frolicking. Spring is a joyful time of new beginnings and renewed vigour.
